I just wanted to know about people that suffer (or have suffered) from both both anxiety and depression, and their stories with medicinal marijuana. Like I have read that THC is used for depression for its uplifting, euphoric, alertness, and increase in energy properties, but that high levels of THC (which is a stimulant) might be bad for anxiety. On the other hand CBD relaxe, sedates, and “slowing” down of thought processes, useful for anxiety. I don't know anything about the effects of… read more

I smoke pot basically every day ( not medically as I live in Australia)
I find it is the only thing that can calm me down at times, yes if you get a bad bag it can cause anxiety and paranoia.
medically speaking, it is amazing. I have researched this topic for days on end and found that it is often more effective than anti depression/ anxiety pills. I also find it more effective, but this is just a personal opinion

It is also not true that there is a cause and effect relationship between the longterm use of marijuana and depression. I read an article in a medical journal on this subject just this week. There is, however, the possibility that marijuana use will bring on the symptoms of latent schizophrenia.

Not true in Canada. Retired doctors are setting up cannabis clinics for the purpose of helping patients with a variety of health problems including pain, depression and anxiety. There are also online clinics with nurse practitioners or doctors for the same purpose. My personal experience is that CBD oil can help but needs careful monitoring by knowledgeable staff. A combination of CBD/THC is very helpful for sleep. There can be interactactions with pharmaceuticals so guidance from a doctor or nurse practitioner is essential.

Its directly contra indicated and there is a correlation between long run use and onset of depression. You will not get a prescription for medical marijuana from any responsible doctor.
