Manic depression is the old school term for bipolar. So, it is, indeed the same thing. Borderline Personality disorder is different again; a different set of criteria apply to have that diagnosis, although it appears to share many traits with bipolar disorder.
I have the same as @A MyDepressionTeam Member - bipolar, borderline and PTSD, and general anxiety disorder. I am stable on medication after a long battle without it - and a short battle of trying to find the right combination of meds that would stabilise me.

The technical term used to be manic depression. Now it's bipolar disorder. That's the current name in the medical world anyway. They are both the same thing though.
@classy Jackie, how do you differentiate between PTSD and depression?
thanks for the reply I can see how the post traumatic stress disorder is different ive seen and witnessed and heard distress enough I hope never experience in life again im permently scared xx
