Hello. I was just wondering if ADHD coexist with other mental conditions such as depression and anxiety? If you think it does, what are your treatments and how well do they work?
I do believe depression and anxiety are concurring symptoms of ADHD. I have all three and sometimes I do feel the link between them all
Yes I have ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Autism, Depression, Stress, Anxiety and Hypertension, my ADHD is treated with Ritalin, the rest I self manage with counselling and self taught relaxation and calming techniques, as antidepressants and beta blockers used for depression and anxiety prevent the effectiveness of the Ritalin, the most important medication to me, and antipsychotics taken alongside Ritalin can be very dangerous, so I'm just having to cope with the difficult emotions associated with the Borderline Personality Disorder, one of my self management techniques is sitting in my chair rocking, as it takes my emphasis off my emotions xxx
Yes! Depression and anxiety are not always disorders, they are symptoms as well. I hope that did help and I am here to talk!
@A MyDepressionTeam Member I was on effexor for 6 years on the same dose and it didn't work for me anymore so we switched it
