I have had no results ith several antidepressants and cannot really get myself out of bed most dats..this drug might give me theh energy and drive I simply seem to be lacking...Is this a last resort drug?
Hey Jamie
Yes unfortunately some anti depressants don't always work for everyone, my doctor had me on four different types till we got the right one. And they all had side effects. I don't think any drug is a last resort as there's always something else they can add to it. Just take every day my friend and remember you're not alone,
Depression comes in all shapes and sizes and no two people are the same or feel the same, but the one thing we all have in common is that we can get better, and we are getting better, try and realise that you're just sick and with any sickness we need to heal. Understand the feelings you're having will pass ( just like the weather ) and they won't last forever when you can start to understand that, you will notice that it's ok to be sad sometimes and accept it, but then you will notice that you can let that sadness go and that it doesn't have to control you, then you can start to improve my friend, depression does not have to control our lives. It can be apart of it, but we are in charge :)
I hope you have a great day Jamie

There is never a "last resort". If a medication helps you, then how is that labeled last resort? Take a low dose of Adderrall daily for many years. Helps me tremendously.
Keep us posted. TMS may be my next avenue
I have had major depressive disorder for over 5 years so \I am in a "last resort" point in my life. I am currently undergoing TMS transcranial magnetic stimulation....2 weeks into a 6 week treatment...fingers crossed
Be honest with your doc. Keeping trying until you find something that works. It may take a while.
