Yes definitely, my son was 13 when his father and I divorced.
He definitely rebelled, it broke my heart but he is 38 yrs old now and I am so very proud of him.
When we are a single parent, we are so wrapped up in trying to glue the shattered pieces of life back together that unintentionally we overlook the pain and distrust our children are trying to make sense of.
Itβs not their fault but somehow they find ways of believing that it is.
Give your 14 yr old some encouragement to be open and honest with you about their feelings and fears.

Iβve only ever had problems with my daughter my two sons have been as good as gold
