I am not sure of the answer to that. But your son sounds like he needs to see a psychiatrist and be evaluated and then take it from there. They may see he just needs weekly therapy. You should NOT have to put up with his tantrums. No excuse for that!!

What defines ADHD? I only ask because as a kid I couldn't sit still and they put me on some medication to calm me down. Or an anti hyper medication

Of course you know what you’re saying! You may have ADHD, but you don’t have a mentally challenged brain.. More than likely you have an average IQ. You can medicate all you want for ADHD but unless you do the work, meaning consistently trying to change your ADHD ways, you’re not gonna get better.
All sorts of things are gonna happen to us in our lives the majority of them we will have no control over. The only control we will have over is how we respond to a situation. Respond wisely.
