I don't think caffeine has a lot to do with mine. I believe mine is more situational.

Everybody is different but timing may affect your mood and if you’re having highs and lows in your blood levels, or physical reactions, you are prone to more depressive symptoms, in my opinion. I did an experiment with no aspartame or caffeine and didn’t notice a difference and I’m a diet pop junkie, but I did go mostly off caffeine and drink diet flavored water now. I think there is research on both sides, but my guess is 1-2 cups a day up to 2:00 Pm. But, what do I know? I read a lot but research is barely true for my body. I think you need to experiment.

Ahh, coffee... awakens and invigorates me. Must have every morning. A good cup just makes me happy. 😊
