@A MyDepressionTeam Member I was on Wellbutrin for years and it worked very well for me. Good luck with the med change. Annie

Told my psychiatrist had no energy or motivation to do anything. Just didn't care. She raised my Welbutrin to 450. It was 300mg. Will tell you Welbutrin is a very good medicine. My therapist was excited and said it's very good drug. Was already taking for years. But adding 150mg to it first couple days was a little woozy, brain fog feeling. But within 2 weeks I felt so much better with my energy and motivation. And it's enough that you feel it!! Welbutrin is my happy pill. But I also take a regular antidepressant Pristiq too. It helps boost effectiveness of my antidepressant.

I took Wellbutrin for years. I had to keep increasing the dose, though, and got up to 450 mg daily. I felt rather agitated and racy on that high a dose. What I appreciated about Wellbutrin was the minimal side effect profile as compared to other antidepressants. I eventually switched to Citalopram which was better for anxiety but certainly has more side effects. I hope the Wellbutrin works for you. It gave me energy and didn’t cause weight gain or sexual side effects.

I had to stop Wellbutrin because it is very drying. I was always thirsty and it even dried my eyes. But it definitely gave me energy and I miss that.
