Myself it depends on who you asked I guess .. but all said bi-polar

How will i know if i have bi polar.i can suddenly go from ahigh gud mood stright to a low.plus i cry and don't know why and hear voices in my head.sometimes get abit suicidle.i don't socialize much and when i am at a high.i can do wild things.like spend lots of money when i shouldn't.i do thing and then recret it the next day and then feel so low.

I'm currently having cbt -it started off as relationship counselling with a therapist given to me by my children's social worker. He has offered to do some work with me individually as a lot of the sessions have opened my eyes to how much I actually struggle with so many things.

Recently my long term partner broke up with me because they no longer were in love with me. In a conversation they told me two people with depression should probably have never been together. Is this a cop out or is there some truth in this? I always believed because we both suffered at different times we would be the best people to support each other as we really understood what the other was going through.

It's hard for me to determine if I am helping or hindering recovery. I would like to hear from others what is helpful and/or other suggestions. Thank you!

Hi I've had depression for twenty years and tried all the ssris however they have stopped working so now the psychiatrist wants to add an antipsychotic drug, Abilify in a small dose to my other drug. This really worries me as I have never been psychotic, only depressed and anxious, and I'm worried what this drug will do to my brain. Any advice or similar experiences would be most appreciated. I have been told that after the demise of my relationship I should try remain single for a year...because I have never been alone. The idea of no physical affection kills me. I am so scared of being alone.

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with this? It was unlike any other depression I had ever experienced. People knew I was sick, but I didn't believe them. I thought they were against me and they didn't know what they were talking about.
