Did Any Of You Ladies Find A Change In Your Menstrual Cycle Since You Started Using An SSRI Antidepressant?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was placed on Nuzak (20mg) about a month ago and I am currently on my period (Day 5). My usual period cycle is 28 days with an average period length of 5 days which means I'm supposed to be finishing soon, however, I've noticed that my period pain has increased and so has my flow. Could this be because of the antidepressant or am I just having a bad month? I would like to know from my fellow female warriors if any of you have experienced the same thing.

Mine became regular after awhile but I had several a month when I first started SSRIs, so it's possible 🤣

I have a IUD I don't have periods now. I always had terrible heavy periods. I also have thyroid issues which also effected my periods . you may want to check into a IUD.

Never that, bUT I went from PMDD to mild PMS. If it keeps happening I would talk to your doctor. It might not seem like much but it can turn into something bigger.

I can't give you an aswer about this but I was taking welbutin with no side effects until my hysterectomy and then it started to cause anxiety attacks or the feeling of anxiety & eventually I had to have it changed. I guess my body changed enough after the surgery that the welbutin was having a completely different affect on me.
