My attacks just "happen"....I dont seem to have any "trigger points"....i sometimes have the feeling of being "spaced out"...which frightens me to go out...any kind of help would be great
There are lots of techniques I use breathing is one , but getting up and moving such as walking keeping busy ,
Music,
Also if you go to YouTube and look at guided meditation for anxiety it really helps
@A MyDepressionTeam Member I am going to try that. Thanks.
When I can’t sleep I’ve been known to count down by 2 starting with (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) 9996:]], 9994:]]... by the time I get 9000 the other thoughts have stopped and I am ready for sleep.
Mine start with disassociation. I feel suddenly odd, like the ground is separate from my feet, then I feel like the ground wants to swallow me up. What works for me is to remind myself it’s all in my head, till the anxiety grows. Basically ignoring the symptoms, not giving them power. In my 20’s I suffered from extreme acrophobia, so I’m an old pro with this.
I'm a guy who suffers panic attacks and anxiety hunny so it's not just women. I don't go out or socialise with anyone and go for weeks without talking to people. I'm on meds but they don't help much I couldn't even get to my best friends wedding because I got ready then panicked about all the people who I didn't know and cried my eyes out for hours!! And lied to my buddy that I had flu in a txt I've tried suicide before! But you hurt those around you I don't know what to suggest but I wanted to let you know guys get it too
I vaguely remember something. It involves using all your senses then breathing. But there's an order.
1. Something you can see
2. Something you can smell
3. Something you can feel
4. Something you can taste
5. Something you can hear
Then sit and inhale in hold for 5 seconds then exhale.
Not sure if that's the correct order. It's supposed to ground you tho. I've never personally tried.
