Why Isnt There A Private Chatroom On Here?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm worried bout a member. We would like to talk in private, but MDT has no option for that. X

Maybe something like a chat lock opsion...
If you want to talk private... lock the chat feed...
When at anytime you feel the conversation is getting out of hand and you need help from the rest of your team... press the unlock icon...

Even if the other person start talking to someone on a locked conversation... trusting them... And that person start to abuse that trust... You should also have the opsion to unlock the conversation for everyone to see...

That way...
Both parties will know that they still need to be in line...
For anyone of the 2 can unlock the conversation at anytime for all to see...

I think if the situation is that desperate, then the person needs to go to the hospital or call the hotline. The only thing with this site is that it is hard to really make a connection with people. Some people I wonder what has happened with them and they disappear.

If someone is in a severe depression or suicidal it needs to be transparent so they can be reported to emergency services. We are not professionals and being the only contact we can make mistakes in what we say or not pick up the urgency of the situation. I personally would not want to be responsible for someone in a crisis. If they should choose to end their life I would never forgive myself. We all want to be of help. If it is something so personal they don't want to discuss in this forum, I believe they should contact a therapist or mental health professional.

What does everyone think?
I am really happy that you think my idea is a good one, I just thought it might be a simple fix, but obviously not..

Thank y'all for your support, you're awesome. Emma (Mxx)
