Ever since I can remember I have peeled the skin off my lips until they bleed when I was stressed or bored. When my parents would tell me to stop I physically couldn't, my hand would just eventually head right back to lips. Now I learn it's a form of OCD called dermatillomania. I have tried everything from keeping my lips hydrated to fidget cubes. I would really like to stop as it is now affecting my work as a waitress...
I scratch sores on my scalp
I do,too. I've had this scalp condition for 4-5 years now, it itches and I scratch the sores, my whole scalp gets it when I have my hair colored, it's called sebhoriec dermatitis, I use T Ge shampool, but that strips the color right out of you hair! No easy answer! I try to ignore it, but the itching gets so bad...
I used to pull my eyelashes out, all of them (trichotillomania) started doing in 1983 and couldn't stop until about 2011. I got addicted to the pain. What helped me stop was scratching ice cubes. The coldness caused a different, less harmful sensation. Maybe that could help you with your lips?
i do, and have OCD as well, Its getting used to the feeling of not doing it that helps
Hi.... it's not the same but I chew the inside of my lips until I have ulcers inside my mouth!
