A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

Im a very quiet person who isn't easy to open up about my challenges, I have reach a state where I can't sleep after taking a sleeping tablet, do you think I'll be a good candidate for CBT ? I don't wanna waste my time and the time of provider

Hi. It is definitely not a waste of time. It teaches you how to overcome difficulties when they they arise, like how to get rid of that little voice in your head. Think of yourself first and go get help, thats what your provider is there for.

it is if you can force yourself to talk and challenge the thought distortions and core beliefs but you have to willing to talk as it is for most of the therapy

I found that CBT was a component but not a complete solution to my depression. It took a much broader (physiological approach) to beat my depression. After I figured out what tricks work, it took me a year to get out. I haven't relapsed since (2 years now). I describe this approach in my book "Depression Blueprint". It's free to download on Kindle May 4 - May 8. Check it out: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZXVMXWK

My Psych suggested it but said I'd have to talk about things/the past so I said, Nevermind.
