I know when I am not depressed, I am just baseline. I know that if I stop my meds... for any reason, it would be catastrophic. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that as soon as they stop feeling depressed, it is okay to stop taking meds. You should not do that without first consulting your doctor, as some medications need to be reduced slowly.
If you're not feeling depressed, that's great! It means the medication is doing its job. I have days where I can be totally manic, then calm down (baseline) and then drop into depression... so I have to be careful. Sometimes I am just baseline all the time and will have a few days of depression... it all depends. Brain chemicals and medication are so touchy, if you get on the right combination of medication, you should feel able to cope. There will be days when you might get the sads, but not become fully depressed. It's a sign that the medication is working in some circumstances.
Hopefully you will be doing the work with a Psychologist as well as being on the meds. I guess it would be a thing between you both, how yourself and he/she feels you are doing..
Well said @A MyDepressionTeam Member
@A MyDepressionTeam Member I do tend to drive myself insane with questions...I hate the idea of having to take meds to think straight, but I know I need them...just want to feel normal again
It's doesn't matter if it is the meds or your own doing if you are out of your depression it is a positive step in the right direction for you decided to take you medication you took that step and now you feel good again ! Don't question why do you feel good that is just your mind questioning things as it always does and loves to do :)
