I have taken Riralin before, but for ADHD and it works wonders for me.I have now been diagnosed with depression, if I took Ritalin now would it help for the depression, have been on a few other depression meds that have had violent side effects on me and I have gone back to 5 HTP again but I am not sure if this is sufficient.

My psychiatrist gives me Ritalin for depression. Does anyone else use it for depression? Also, when it wears off do you get a crash into depression and anxiety? What can I do about that? I feel so much better when it's in my system.

The reason I am asking was to see if there is any correlation between low Vitamin D levels in the blood and my depression getting worse
My body has difficulty absorbing Vitamin D from sunlight(although in the North of England we don't get enough) and diet
I am now taking 20,000 iu of Vitamin D3 daily and I feel like it's helped my depression slightly.
Apparently vitamin D helps with brain function as well as helping our bodies to absorb dietary calcium.
