I know that you shouldnt medicate with alcohol and drugs. A little bit of my story is I broke my ankle when I was 14 and I was never told that I would have pain as bad as it was when I was finally able to walk. They said the pain would be light and would go away which was a lie. They had to put a metal plate and pins in. It would throb and swell four months after the surgery. Just wondering if anyone else here finds comfort in the bottom of a bottle, when having a really down episode,
Or does anyone drink to make them feel better, or just to get some sleep, if so whats your poison?

I know alcohol is a depressant and can react badly with medication. I ask because I would love to have a glass of wine with a meal when out ( not that I do so often, just if I'm particularly bright ) so would be a rare pleasure, but not worth it if it puts me back x

I have found that so many people turn to drugs and alcohol when depressed or anxious. When I was in my 20's I did my share of getting drunk and loving it. But once diagnosed in 2001 I haven't' taken a drink of anything. I go to parties or out once in a while and it is ingrained in my mind that I am not supposed to mix alcohol with my medication. Is Clozaril better for depression than Effexar

I have been having negative thoughts and waking up with heart palpitations I have also been sleeping alot lately I have been self medicating with drugs and alcohol not alot this is to either stop the thoughts or to sleep alot.. I feel supper slow and don't know how to stop this
