... I believe a lot of mental health disorders we have are the result of being raised in dysfunctional families. Of my small family nucleus, both my mom (died in 2012), and my 2 half-sisters are abusive. It it just dawned on me that at least a few of them are narcissists (Google it if you don't know what that is)... it was a HUMONGOUS revelation on my part...so I have nothing to do with any of them now, hence, 1 reason why I'm alone. Wooooo-hoooo, that's SUPER -grand for you.... healing past doo-doo to make your life better, hopefully easier too. It's hard work that pays off. There are "healing from narcissistic abuse" groups on Facebook. I belonged for awhile, till I saw that many of the folks we're still in narcissistic, abusive relationships with family or spouses (so the groups weren't about actually healing, since some people hadn't realized,or were starting to realize, that they were entangled with narcissists). In one of those groups is where my lightbulb moment happened in regard to my sick, twisted family members that I no longer have anything to do with. The worst, though, is that I spent about 50 years of my life in a family that was never going to be a good, decent one...better late than never, they say!
I've been studying Narcissistic behavior for sometime I have a great mentor who specializes in narcissistic/ Emphat relationships
I had to heal my inner child as my mother had high narcissistic traits and I was a people pleaser and codependent traits also
