Thomas . Alcohol is a depressant in itself . You might feel temporary better but in the long term it only makes u worse . U need support and help . Can you go to a detox or rehab to help you get off the booze ? I’m sober 34 years now so I’m here for you anytime u need support . Use us as a support system and join AA .

I stopped drinking because I always felt more depressed after drinking (maybe the hangover made me get in a depressed mood). I used to think pot and drinking helped (like medicine) when I was young but as I've gotten older the effect isn't as effective, I feel like my body can't take it anymore. The lows are too low and I feel more emotionally balanced the more sober I am. But it takes getting used to if you have a strong habit. Good luck!
