GRIEF, LOSS And Mental TRAUMA :
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

How many of you have had an experience with grieving for a lost love whom you needed but who had to leave you due to unfortunate circumstances specifically just after a loved one of yours had passed away and this person was supporting you all through to cope with the loss and grief of the passing away of your loved one but eventually was forced to leave you due to circumstances ? How had you been emotionally able to deal with such a scenario when you had already become an emotional wreck ?

Yes, I definitely agree with Dawn 😁. CBT has been of great help to me, however, it requires A LOT of patience, practice, openness and honesty to really work well. I'm still learning as I go and some days I'm not as open to it or I forget to apply the techniques but I have an awesome psychologist who is not just a great support system but he totally gets me. He understands how my mind works so he only teaches me techniques that he thinks will work for me and that, my dear friends, is dedication.

Some might find it doesn't work and that's okay but you need to do what you need to do to feel better. If you go in with an open mind and an open heart, who knows? It might just change your life 😁😁

I also have done CBT and DBT. I found the later not helpful to me. But the CBT was, as others have said, a way to look at situations and your reactions and self differently. Honesty, Open mindedness and Practice are KEY.

CBT is helpful but have have to intentionally practice it. Basically you challenge your negative thought patterns, and try to reframe your thoughts there by experiencing more positive feelings, behaviors πŸ‘
