Sounds like you are protecting yourself by avoiding something. With your cycle you keep busy forever changing. Your are letting fear/anxiety run the show. You could try to voice what is bothering you. Write it down make it concrete. That way it can be dealt with.

Do you have a good therapist that you trust? That can help.

Mindfulness focusing your mind can give you clarity of thought.

I don't pretend to have the answers but I think finding the underlying cause is the first step. Or more likely do you want to go down this road.

In this vein I am here as a sounding board as are the others in this community. You have resources here.
