I take 60mg Cymbalta and 10mg Valium and go to sleep 11pm and Up again at 2am or 3am from nightmares. Never know when it will happen. Comes out of no where.
Could happen 2 or 3 days in a row or not again for 2 or 3 weeks...
Sounds like the nightmares are caused by PTSD to me.
I feel your pain. It is amazing how the body can control you even when you are doing everything for it to do better. I have the medication to put me to sleep and if my thoughts are not relax I can only sleep for a little bit. I’m find exercising helps me. I’m just so tired and stressed out about taking care of major issues in my life that I use the excuse that exercising has to be put on the back burner. Today I will do a 30 minute walk like my doctor has suggested. I’ll update you tomorrow.
You need to contact your healthcare professional for a possible med change or adjustment. There are so many options out there now that a person doesn’t need to suffer or be miserable with sleep problems, nightmares, etc.
I was taking 120mg cymbalta up until 8 wks (help get thru transition period for HRT to kick in) I suffer insomnia at best of times only have nightmares when I go to sleep agitated... Severe nightmares during 8 week withdrawal period to reduce dosage back to 60mg...if you are worried about lack of sleep and nightmares talk to your doctor or maybe try deep breathing or meditation before bed to quieten your mind...best of luck
I have been taking 60 mg of Generic Cymbalta twice a day and Trazodone(don't know how many mg the Trazodone prescription is., but take up to two tablets of the Trazodone per day(I work overnight 12AM til 7AM Sunday thru Thursday nights and off Friday and Saturday nights) and on weekends I take them at night as I told the PA at the local MHMR clinic that I suffer from insomnia. When I first took up to two tablets of the Trazodone... I had a couple of nightmares. I don't think that the generic Cymbalta caused nightmares cos I didn't start taking the Trazodone at the same time as starting on the generic Cymbalta. I have yet to have anymore nightmares but had two in one night after taking up to two tablets of the Trazodone.
