New Zealand Petition For Medication Brand Change
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hello,
Helen has started a petition to try and get our Government to take notice and start funding Effexor-XR again, Enlafax (the generic medication) has badly affected a lot of people but trying to get anything done about it is near impossible. Being on Effexor-XR is now very expensive as it is no longer funded at all, and many people with mental illness are on limited income.
Please sign and share this petition.
Thank you.

NZ Medication Change Efexor XR To Enlafax
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question đź’

Good Morning,

About three week's ago when I went to pick up my medication there was a note to say my Venlafaxine (Efexor XR) had been changed to a generic brand of the medication - Enlafax. I didn't think too much of it at the time
I have noticed a drop in my mood, I am increasingly more irritable and angry inside, my thoughts of self-harm and suicide have definitely increased, and I just don't feel "right".
I thought a bit more about what could be causing then then I had a light-bulb moment… read more

After having major problems in 2017 changing from Efexor-XR to Enlafax-XR, we want to try and get the process around funding of alternate brands of medication changed to make it less restrictive.

Please help by signing and sharing this petition.

There is also a Facebook page for people who have been affected by this - "ENLAFAX - problems with medication brand change NZ" please join if you have been or know of someone who was.

Does Anyone Else Read Their "after Appointment" Notes And Summary?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question đź’

I read the notes from my meeting with the psychiatrist and now I feel really mentally ill. It seems that the freedom to read notes from the doctor makes me become my illness.

I Feel I Have Not Been Doing As Well Taking Lamotrigine Since It Became The Generic For Lamictal! Do Others Have Trouble With This Change?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have been hospitalized more often since I'm taking the lamotrigine rather than lamictal. I discovered the partical brand is the cheapest one my pharmacy, CVS, as least as of a couple years ago, sold. I looked it up. I've asked my providers if they would be willing to do the paperwork necessary to get me back on Lamictal but all of them have said no. What can I do? I know my moods better than anyone? I was told last time hospitalized it could be my body chemistry is changing now that I am… read more

A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have Extreme Agoraphobia. I do not leave my home except in cases of emergency...ex..if i have a doctor appointment that cannot be done by telemed, if i need bloodwork or tests done, a few times in the last 4 years i have managed to go do laundry and twice i have gone to a store with my daughter for groceries. I think i did go out with my daughter one year for my birthday. For 2 years i didnt even allow company to come over. No one comes over or calls me anymore.
