A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

Can anyone help me understand what the withdrawal side effects might be if stopping Cymbalta? I have been taking 60mg per day for over one year.

Hard to say.u might get brain zaps which are very annoying.may be dizzy an nauseated.if u could talk to your doctor to give u a lower dose an gradually taper off that would be easier on u.does your doctor know? Y do u not want to take it anymore?

Much like withdrawl from heroin. I learned the hard way don't try to stop taking it without your doctor's help.

Same withdrawals as Effexor. Went cold Turkey from maximum dose. Not a pleasant ride, by any means. Tapper off.

You're best to stop it gradually. I stopped cold turkey and had bad flu like symptoms for three weeks
