Is it normal for me to sleep all the time, also not interested in getting dressed or going out

The oversleeping is depression, the not wanting to get dressed or go out is called isolation, you are not living your life, you're stagnant and refusing to live your life, you're too scared (??) to go out among other people. I am that way and, believe me, it's no way to live your life. I'm seeing my doctor next week and telling him about this, I need a change in my meds, maybe a mood booster, idk.

Best wishes for you to get better.

Excessive sleep for me has either been due to severe depression or a side effect of a med.

Prozak isn't working for me either. I take colodipin (sp) and trazadone (sp) and that works very well. Talk to your Dr about it. Best thing is you don't wake up all foggy.

When I was in the worst stage of my depression I slept for about 14 hours a day. I wasn't interested in going out either, only the occasional party where I could drink and smoke to forget how numb I was feeling. I came to a psychiatrist with this symptom of sleeping a lot and she prescribed me Wellbutrin which is an antidepressant for atypical depression which involves sleeping excessively. Wellbutrin gave me more energy so I didn't sleep as much and eventually I was able to come off of it. I still sleep more than I would like but I understand now that the amount I sleep is in direct correlation with any stressful situations in my life.
