NZ Medication Change Efexor XR To Enlafax
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

Good Morning,

About three week's ago when I went to pick up my medication there was a note to say my Venlafaxine (Efexor XR) had been changed to a generic brand of the medication - Enlafax. I didn't think too much of it at the time
I have noticed a drop in my mood, I am increasingly more irritable and angry inside, my thoughts of self-harm and suicide have definitely increased, and I just don't feel "right".
I thought a bit more about what could be causing then then I had a light-bulb moment… read more

I would wait at least 3 weeks before contacting your Dr. It also may be starting to help and you don't realize it. Try not to think about it too much.

Weaning Off Effexor.
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've been weaning off Effexor for 3 months now and have been having really bad withdrawls from it
Nausea, headaches, stomach cramps, appetite loss and brain zaps.
Has anyone had a positive story weaning off Effexor or is this one of those "You need to just deal with the withdrawls"?
Any tips and tricks to avoid feeling like crap is greatly appreciated. I just started my first job in my field and can't go home sick everytime I'm having side effects from Effexor.
Thank you mucho grande peeps.

Effexor is one of the most difficult antidepressants to get off of. Taper slowly, drink lots of water and exercise. It takes awhile to completely get out of your system. Good Luck

Questions About Antidepressants?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is there any other antidepressants besides Zoloft? I have been on zoloft since 2011 and I am finding that it is not effective like it used to be. What other medication goes Wellbutrin? I started using that in October 22, and it helps a lot. I want to stop taking zoloft. Should I stop taking zoloft or wait for my next appointment? Is it true that if you stop taking your antidepressants, your mood will go from bad to worse?
