I'm wondering this because I am and some days I have to take Valium just to be able to function. When I read how others can't even get out of bed, don't shower etc I wonder if their meds aren't right for them or if this is something that happens while taking meds.
Hi, I'm on anti depressants and they help my Depression, the cocktail I'm on now, definitely helps and they don't leave my mind foggy. Valium and Ativan etc are great for anxiety, but because of their addictive nature, they aren't given out, as a means to cope with anxiety, long term. I was on Valium for 30yrs and then a new Psychiatrist, change my meds and started to slowly reduce the Valium, until I was nearly weaned, but unfortunately, I'm back on them, due to not being able to deal with the anxiety other ways. I've done CBT, but I find I can't focus on what is needed to do, which I'm told will help me with the anxiety, maybe because I've had an anxiety condition for so long, CBT is not for me. Do you suffer from Depression as well? There could be a number of reasons why some people on here, stay in bed all day, could be the anti depressants they're on or they may not be on any, or the wrong ones. We're a bit like guinea pigs, when it comes to finding the right meds. I use to say I'd rather be addicted to Benzo's than live with feeling anxious 24/7, but the M/H department are against them, so we suffer
Yes. I wish I would have never started them.
I just got results back from the genetic enzyme test- all the meds I’ve been on over the years were in My red zone- not a good fit for my metabolism. CBT is working for me as well as meds- I’ll stick with this duo until I plateau.
