Someone significant in my life has Lewy Body Dementia. This person was in hospital for a couple of months or more but, is now in a retirement home. I find I am having a really hard time dealing with this as this person is just different in many ways than they used to be. If anyone has advice or knows anything about this dementia, I would appreciate your replies.
That is what Robin Williams had and decide to end of all
I have taken care of a couple of people that have this diagnosis.it was very sad and difficult for the families. It is similar to Mad Cow disease in the presentation. Unfortunately there is no cure.
My grandma had Alzheimer's and I also worked in the Alzheimer's unit at the Nursing home it is a very sad heartbreaking illness patience is the best thing and just let them lead the conversation even if it doesn't all make sense to you. It is hard though.
Try googling it honey. Google what u don't know an wanna answer 2. I haven't found anything that it doesn't have an answer 2 except when God is coming back
My 91 year old stepdad has had it for a few years and it's gotten worse. It's very hard on my mom. She's only 76 and his caregiver. The do have help that comes in but mostly it's her. He has symptoms mostly when he's falling asleep for a nap during the day. He will hallucinate. He also wakes up at night with very bad hallucinations. It takes my mom quite awhile to convince him that everything is ok and then get him settled to fall back asleep. I guess he's lucky this s isn't happen to him when he was younger like Robin Williams.
