When mine gets really bad, I force myself to talk to someone about it. I will make a list of things that are on my mind (I also struggle with anxiety). I will also exercise at least an hour a day until I feel good again. Sometimes I just walk for that hour and don't do anything strenuous. Its hard, no doubt, but these things make it manageable for me. I know a lot of people say eating right makes a huge difference as well!
@A MyDepressionTeam Member as for me it took me til my late 30s to seek help with my Depression & that's when I really learned that I had Depression & Anxiety, growing up I didn't really know what it was, growing up you did discuss issues that you have, whatever you went through it stay in the house & not talked about
I crochet as it takes my mind off things. I was taught at the age of 7 and have found it useful when I'm really stressed and depressed. On Saturdays when I am part of the cleaning team at my local church I vacuum the chapel area and I find that is a great help with my depression. so calming for me.
