Light Therapy?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

What are the light therapy requirements to treat SAD/depression so I will know what to look for when purchasing one? If anyone has purchased one, what brand and what do you do and don't like about it? Any other ways to get that treatment other than through one of the "boxes" and is there a tax write off?

Not sure about tax write off. I have a small light box. It is portable and opens like a book. It was recommended by my doctor, but I'm not sure if it worked. I was very depressed at the time and my doc said that I literally could not use it too much because I was so depressed. I'm not sure if it helped. One good thing was I could just sit up in bed and use it. It was something positive I could do for myself with a minimum of effort.

Living in WI in the winter when it gets dark so early light therapy works out alittle sometimes. I still need something else to do and if it wasn't for my dog I don't think I can make it through the winter.
