I take Carbamazepine 200 mg 3 tablets twice a day and it works for me I have tried others once but this is the one that works for me and I take Citalopram 10 mg once a day. I have bipolar. I have had depression since I was 11 years old. Later on in life I was diagnosed with bipolar. The medications I have told you about work for me.I hope you find one that works for you. One more thing do not stop taking your medications because you will get very depressed again and then you will not be able to function at all I have not been on my medication as I had to get the other one out of my system. My mother had to watch me so I did not go on a spending spree. It takes about 2 weeks for the new medications to kick in. Good Luck.

Can honestly say over the years I've been in on a lot of meds, too many to mention, but seek help if the bad days outweigh the good days, as all meds take time to work, if u still do not feel any effects after 6 weeks I'd go back to dr xx

I know my meds work because if they didn't I would be constantly crying and suisidal. Hiding myself from fear. It's a good thing my meds work

I know my meds are working because I'm still alive. After that, it's just trying to feel as functional as possible by adjusting the meds and dosages. Having a psychiatrist really helps more than just having a family doctor. Mine is very knowledgeable. I hope you have success in finding just the right combination for you!
