Most of my life I have struggled with depression and unable to hold down jobs, unable to advance
I was unable to hold a job for no more than 30 days over a 3 year period. I have bipolar disorder but spend most of the time in varying levels of depression. I filed in 2014 and in 2016 I finally had my hearing. I also retained the services of Binder and Binder and in October 2016 I was approved for permanent disability. At the hearing the judge told me that the documentation I had made it perfectly clear that I am disabled. I had all of my medical records from therapists, psychiatrists, hospitalizations, everything including my work record. The documentation clearly showed the direct correlation between my failed job attempts and my hospitalizations. Binder and Binder collected all of my records for me so I didn't have to do anything but sign my release forms. Binder and Binder only receives payment if you win and they take it out of your social security settlement (you receive back pay back to the original date of disability which is usually considered to be the day you filed.) I got 2 years of back pay because I had to wait 2 years for my hearing. I hope this was helpful. The SHORT answer to your question is yes. :)
Thanks Michele!
I was approve'd for disability in 2010 for major depression w/anxiety disorder. After being decline'd many times, I retain'd a law firm, Binder and Binder, and received my approval letter within a couple of months. Good luck and hang in there!
