Sorry. This is not a question. Do not know where to post otherwise. Be cautious with lorazepam if you are depressed. It may worsen the condition.
On the other side, Lorazepam (Ativan) has proven to be very effective for me. I'm very cognizant of it's addictive nature and am hyper vigilant in taking it. I almost always never take as much as I'm prescribed because I'm terrified of addiction.
I have found that ativan/lorazepam just intensifies feelings of depression. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone dealing with depression!!!!
I take Lorazepam but not very often only when my touch of OCD acts up. I will keep that in mind. Thank-you.
That sounds good.
Dear Laurie
That's the problem with Lorazepam. Ones body gets used to it and usually people need higher doses as time goes on. Not a good med if depression is the main cause of ones problem. Lorazepam is good for anxiety but only if used occasionally or short periods of time. Short means like 7 days.
For me it was devastating. It made my depression worse and it was difficult to stop. I have now stopped altogether but one cannot suddenly stop using it. Reduction of the dose over time is essential if ones GP feels one needs to go of the med.
My depression is mostly now manageable again.
Speak to your GP about it.
