I have found that so many people turn to drugs and alcohol when depressed or anxious. When I was in my 20's I did my share of getting drunk and loving it. But once diagnosed in 2001 I haven't' taken a drink of anything. I go to parties or out once in a while and it is ingrained in my mind that I am not supposed to mix alcohol with my medication. After many years on different medications, I feel like nothing works for me anymore. Doctor has decided to try a combination of 2 anti depressants together. Just wondering if anyone else takes more than 1 and if so, is it worth sticking it out?

Someone asked me why people commit Suicide when they’re going to hell all I could say from my own life is that not really thinking where your going but person still didn’t understand and even thinks I’ll dying people shouldn’t take there life that’s a sin too so how would you answer that to someone who’s also old and religious ?

Has anyone ever gotten close to someone/people/anyone, thought you could trust them,etc. only to have them betray you, pass you off on someone else and abandon you when times got too hard in their eyes even if they promised to be there and your friend no matter what, in the past?

Do you have trouble letting people get close to you, now?

Do people have to jump through hoops to earn your trust?

Do you have a hard time trusting people and making friends now, because of that?

All of my friends, every single one, is married, has children and grandchildren, yet at 62, I've never had that "family" connection. Dysfunctional family, married and divorced, with a son, and never remarried, at 21. Now at 62, my best friends and connections have had that "white picket fence" life. I have never in my life felt so down and out,this has been on going for 3 years. Ever since i started working i have been trying to keep calm with myself and all those around,my colleague suffers from depression and a little bit of bipolar (thats my opinion). She is on depression medications and i initially joined this group hoping to understand her but i think i am more in need for this than her,can somebody help.
