Its medical name is Tranylcypromine. It is one of the very first antidepressants ever on the market. because i had tried so many that didn`t work, this was the last resort before ECT. my psychiatrist is very experienced but is also about 70 years old...the pharmacist had to look it up because he had never heard of it before and they have to order it in just for me...it seems to work but i feel like the dose is excessive. google indicates 60mg per day max and i am on 100mg a day.
