Stay as far away from Effexor as possible. If you look it up on google, you will actually find a website, where it's called the drug from hell. As once on it you can't get off it. I can speak from experience I tried twice to get off it and both times had relapses. If I miss a day and take it a bit later sometimes I go into total withdrawal and vomit and shake like a drug addict.
I am on venafaxin now, very similar to Effexor, but now I have just accepted I will have to take the tablets for the rest of my life.

I've taken both separately and had bad side effects from both, but I have bad side effects from most. However, Effexor was really bad for me, it messed with my memory and concentration big time and my friends thought I was zombie like.

I am guessing listening to your heart is giving you some relief with your depression. I have had medicines that I stopped quickly do to side effects, but I have spent to many years trying to do it my way. It has not worked out well for me.
