Is Anxiety And Depression An Addiction
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

If somebody ask you that question what would you say to it do you find that you are fighting it as an addiction

I wouldn't call it an addiction but there are times when one can feel comfortable in our anxiety or depression as doing things to change it can be difficult or scary...if that makes some kind of sense

@A MyDepressionTeam Member, it does make sense.

I knew someone like this who would express the pain they are in, but refused to confront their issues, because they are scared to do so. Filed bad memories very quickly just to get away from them. The worst part is that society view this person as someone who is using their depression to get attention. People would sever ties because they want to help, but that help is refused. "This person wants to be like that" is something I've heard many times.

I don't think that it is an addiction. Above could be a case of "I can't feel anything, except this. If I address it I will have nothing to feel." I can just imagine the hell someone like that must be living in.
