Statins And Citalopram
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was reducing my citalopram from 40mg/day to 10mg/ day over a few months as advised. I was then told I had to take 40mg Atorvastatin a day for high cholesterol. My mood has changed, I'm really down and feel like the bus ran over me. Anyone else experienced this?

I'm not sure of any medical fact regarding those drugs together. I'm on both, and I still have really down days sometimes but usually come right after a couple of days. Maybe you are reducing your citalopram too fast? I'd check in with your doctor.
